The Business Administration, B.S., Curriculum

The B.S. in business administration provides broad business knowledge, including accounting, business law, information systems, economics, finance, marketing, management, quantitative methods and statistics.

The curriculum is structured to ensure a global perspective while also letting you specialize in an area of concentration if you so choose.

Senior year, a capstone experience combines business plan research with a practicum and provides the option to start a business in the college’s Student Business Incubator.

As a business administration major, you can choose a concentration to align with your career goals.

Six concentrations are available:

Entrepreneurship
Acquire the foundations of entrepreneurship and innovation through the integration of coursework, business research and hands-on activities. 

Marketing
Gain a background in all areas of marketing in a global economy, including principles of marketing, research techniques, marketing strategy and consumer behavior. 

Sports Management
Learn the business of sport through specialized courses in economics, finance, marketing and management that emphasize the unique nature of the sports industry.

Global Management and Finance
Prepare for international trade or finance by learning to evaluate global financial issues and understand how national culture shapes business practices, values and behaviors.

Information Technology Management
Acquire hands-on experience in information technology management. Learn to solve real-world problems--and be ready to manage new and emerging technologies.

Leadership and Social Responsibility
Learn leadership theory and practice that can have a positive impact on the quality of life for the workforce, workers’ families and communities and society as a whole.

You'll take courses specific to your concentration during the second half of your program, including specialized restricted electives.
